What can I say? My name is Joe, I’m now 30 years old, I live in Manchester. I still work in the fast-paced and dangerous world of University administration. I’m a member of a really cool church called Grace Church Manchester where I get to play music, lead one of our Community Groups, as well as occasionally preach! I’m married to Gail, my best friend, which is a lot of fun.
I enjoy playing music (guitar/piano) and songwriting, sports (tennis & football especially). I play computer games, I watch films and TV (West Wing, Spooks, Yes Minister & Yes Prime Minister, 24, Scrubs, The Prisoner, Futurama, Malcolm in the Middle, Simpsons, Black Books, IT Crowd, Father Ted, Blackadder, People Like Us, Fawlty Towers, Goodness Gracious Me, League of Gentlemen, Fast Show, Phoenix Nights plus many many more).
I love music (Manics, Beatles, Muse, Coldplay, The Jam, Style Council, anything by Paul Weller basically, The Who, The Clash, Ocean Colour Scene, John Mayer, Ian Dury, Foo Fighters, R.E.M., U2, Radiohead, Feeder, Stereophonics, Supergrass, Blur, Oasis, Dire Straits, Guns n’ Roses, Zutons, Rodrigo y Gabriela and much much more …). I enjoy cooking and eating, I hope to write a novel some day, I hope to record a CD this year, I like the English language and it’s many funny words,
I now have 1 niece and 2 nephews – all of whom are very cool and funny! Oh, and I really like cheese (the foodstuff, not the variety of music/films) and once did a (vaguely) scientific experiment to discover the effect of cheese on dreams.
When I grow up I want to be a Minister/Vicar/Pastor person.
Hmmm, fascinating page, Joe!
OK, since I left that last post, you’ve put some content on this page. I was going to say, “so I take back my last comment” – but that would be even worse, wouldn’t it! Now, it truly is fascinating, rather than me needing to be facetious about it.
One question: why does “Evangelical” get a capital letter but “church” does not? It makes for some odd implications…
Thank you, Martin! Um, in answer to Your question it’s probably Because i’m not Entirely sure of where you Should put a capital letter And where you shouldn’t … Believe me, there’s no Hidden meaning!
Joe! I just discovered your blog from Scott! It’s great!!
Hi Naomi!
And I’ve just discovered your comment! Thank you very much – I hope to be adding some more content soon …
Hope you’re well!
Joe 🙂
Kefalograviera is a Greek cheese. Pan fry it till brown on both sides and you will remember my words…it is the best. Most eat haloumi…Kefalograviera eats the people who eat haloumi.
